Name one of your favourite things about someone in your family.

Ergh! Who to choose? There’s so many. I think the one that jumps out would have to be my husband - the way he knows how to make me laugh even when I’m not in the mood and he always knows the right thing to say.

What is your favourite Bible verse?

Let’s kick off the stuff that’s tripping us up, let’s untie the mess that weighs us down and let’s run! Let’s channel our stamina reserves and run the race we’ve been entered for. Let’s focus our minds on Jesus, who made us, who coached us: he’s there at the finishing line. He went through the hell of execution, he stomached total humiliation so he could take his place in the top office of heaven. While you’re running, lock your mind on to him and the pain barriers he pushed through, the blocks put up by messed-up men that he had to dive through. Lock on to him and fatigue won’t touch you, you’ll have that inner belief, and you’ll keep going’ – (Word on the Street Bible) - Hebrews 12:1-3

What is your favourite Bible verse?

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit  of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty stength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms’ - Ephesians 1:17-20

What is your favourite Bible verse?

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39

What is your favourite Bible verse?

‘By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.’ - 1 Corinthians 3:10-15

Teaching

In Christ Church we believe in exploring ministry opportunities. We have a broad base of those who lead in the church and teach from God’s word. Chelmsford Diocese have training schemes to help those who are called to a preaching ministry develop their skills. Often this calling needs to be tested with the church family before someone undergoes the formal training. This is proving a real blessing to us and to those who answer God’s call.

We are so thankful to God for his provision amongst us, that does not mean there isn’t room for more people!
